Principal's Message
Dear Spencer Family,
Welcome Back! As we embark on a new academic journey, we must first celebrate our achievements from the previous school year.
Spencer's ISAT scores for the 2009 – 2010 school year (this past year) represent the school’s highest academic achievement in its history!
Within the last three years Spencer has achieved it's highest ISAT Gains!
Spencer has had six (6) consecutive years of growth on the ISAT!
Our ISAT composite score is 58%!
Our goal is to perform at 65% – 70% for all subject areas this coming school year.
Although we continue to better our performance on assessments, our real success stems from what we have been able to achieve in our classrooms. I am proud of our school culture and achievement within Spencer overall. Our students work hard because our teachers have high expectations. Our teachers believe in our students and challenge them with a rigorous curriculum that takes into consideration our students’ strengths and challenges. Our students are respectful, wear their uniforms, communicate effectively and show confidence in their abilities. All of these attributes give them an advantage as they continue their education and plan for their future.
As we continue into the third year of our technology grant, our goal is to get more technology in students’ hands more often. Expect to see many more technological projects throughout the school, and increased opportunities for students to think more deeply about what they are doing, through the use of technology.
