Hello Students and Parents! It has been a very busy first quarter and we want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your wonderful support and cooperation as we move into the second quarter of the year. We are currently assessing the students on the basic skills taught during the first quarter. We will discuss the results with you during Report Card Pickup Day on Nov. 18th. These are the skills we are assessing: Spelling- 20 word sampling of unit spelling tests Phonics- all long vowel sounds /ai/ /ay/ words using words in context Reading Comprehension Main Idea Details Character Setting Math- Place Value Greater Than > Less Than < We are also wrapping up our unit on Communities and Government.We really enjoyed learning about a Prairie Community. Visit our photo album to see the sod homestead we built. Our map skills are improving as well. Ask your child to name the 50 states!(They can sing the states as well!) We harvested all of our vegetables and have begun to put the garden to bed for the winter. Check out our photo album for pictures! Homework support has been GREAT! Thank you for your help with this.
