“Bem-vindos” or “Welcome Everyone” to our new, early school year at Spencer Technology Academy. I am excited to begin personal and shared art experiences. You are encouraged to “Bring it on” this year and reflect your knowledge, opinions, and feelings to what you create. “Put your heart into it” is our beginning explorative theme. How do you communicate what’s important in your life? How does your stuff (prized possessions, goals, clothing, etc.) reflect what’s in your heart? How do you show commitment? These and other perplexing questions will be discussed, debated, and used as inspiration during our sessions together. This summer I learned how to weld. I love being able to make sculptures from metal and hope to create work that will combine this media with clay. What new media do you want to work with?
